Ballet and yoga have a lot in common. Both cultures are very old. As yoga roots
come to 5000 years ago, ballet was born in 16th century at the court of French
king Louis the XIV. Both yoga & ballet require self-discipline and knowledge of
your own body and both practices deliver an incredible spiritual experience.
When you step onto a yoga mat you have to leave everything else behind and just
Be there. When you put your hand on ballet bar you enter into a different, magical
world, and get fully-absorbed in the creation of the movement and music. We
experience selfawareness, confidence and balance when we practice yoga. We develop grace, poise and the sense of beauty in ballet. As yoga turns us inward to our inner self, making us realize who we are, the dance brings our feelings and emotions
out from the depth of our souls.
When ballet and yoga merge together they create a unique practice for our body, mind and soul. There
is no judgment or competition. Breathe, express your emotions in a flowing movement, be inspired by
classical music and let yourself be in a dream…
