Shilpa was surrounded by yoga all her life and in 2003 became an avid practitioner while living in Washington, D.C. Throughout several moves, yoga proved to be a constant in her life. In 2011, after moving to New York City, Shilpa decided to deepen her practice and passion by becoming a 200-hour Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT). Shilpa had the privilege of studying at OM Yoga Center in New York City under world-renowned teachers Cyndi Lee, Frank Mauro, Edward Jones and Joe Miller. There, Shilpa not only learned the basic practice and principles of yoga, but also studied anatomy, yoga philosophy and meditation. Shilpa also has attended workshops with Beryl Bender Birch and the Tibetan Buddhist lama, Gelek Rimpoche. Shilpa teaches Vinyasa yoga to students of all levels who are looking to build strength and flexibility, and learn about proper body alignment within poses. Her down-to-earth approach allows students to feel comfortable, regardless of experience or physical ability.
