Sheilagh Falcigno's yogic journey began over 25 years ago. Attracted to both the physical and mental aspects of the practice, she was amazed at the way she could connect with her body so profoundly and simultaneously calm her mind. This allowed her a new perspective on old injuries and showed her yoga's tremendous healing potential. After many years as an Early Childhood teacher Sheilagh decided to dedicate herself to teaching yoga
In 2012, while living in Rome, Italy, she began a year long mentorship with Massimo Celentano at the Centro Turiya and received her children's yoga certification thru Rainbow Kids Yoga at Yoga Suite. After returning to America in 2013 she completed her 200hour teacher training at New York Yoga. Sheilagh then trained to teach to incarcerated persons and others dealing with multiple traumas with James Fox of the Prison Yoga Project and to cancer patients and survivors with Tari Pristner of Yoga 4 Cancer.
Sheilagh's own healing inspires her to share what she has learned from her many beloved teachers with her students. In all of her classes she strives to create a safe and nurturing environment in which students can explore both their inner and outer selves. Often infusing elements of traditional Middle Eastern dance and martial arts she leads her students to discover not only peace but also joy within their bodies, minds, and hearts.
