A registered yoga teacher, specializes in yoga for mamas. Her classes use a vinyasa-style flow to strengthen mothers-to be-for labor. Melissa employs asanas specific to opening up the pelvic floor muscles, preparing them for childbirth, and for relieving all the common ailments of pregnancy, such as low-back pain and leg cramps. She makes her classes fun and creates a sense of community among the moms. She also teaches workshops on yoga for labor and delivery. Melissa's advanced studies include yoga for labor and delivery, postnatal yoga and mommy-and-me yoga. She is wrapping up her training to become a certified childbirth educator and has completed training toward birth doula certification, as well. She is also in production on a prenatal yoga video.
